Block parties and taco trucks

How was your weekend?

We had a busy weekend! Not as busy as some, but still busier than others. We went to a block party on Saturday where Brian’s old band was playing. I hadn’t seen them in 6 months, so that was fun. A friend of Brian’s was actually in charge of the party and had Fuzzy’s Taco’s cater. We had steak and chicken tacos, so I had no complaints about that night!

Saturday night was a gig, which was a lot of fun. It was another late night, but I guess I’m used to those now!

Thankfully, I didn’t sleep my whole Sunday away. Got up around 10:30 and did some grocery shopping so I could meal prep for the week. My weekend escapades didn’t lead me too far off course nutritionally, but I need to dial it in a bit for the week days. I have found that the best way for me to keep track of what I’m eating is to just log it. Whether that be on paper or in My Fitness Pal, I feel so much better when I know what and how much I’ve eaten.

On the menu for this week:

  • Whole wheat wraps from Tumaro’s (found at my nearest health market)
  • Sliced turkey
  • Iceburg lettuce
  • Baby carrots

I also have some whole wheat crackers, mild cheddar cheese, and an apple for my afternoon snack.

Whoever told you that you could only eat 3 meals a day was crazy! I have two breakfasts (one before and one after my workout) every morning, lunch, an afternoon snack, and dinner. I function better that way! On plasma days, I have a small extra snack after my donation.
