Fun Fact Friday: The curse of the wendigo

I hate my tattoos.

I mean, I don’t completely hate them. I would love them on someone else.

People get tattoos because they want others to see them, and I spend 50% of my time trying to hide mine. I got them when I was really young, and I didn’t think them through.

I am now the person that advises others not to get tattoos.

Well, usually I try to stay out of their business. But if they ask for my opinion on tattoos, I very calmly say “DON’T DO IT!” And sometimes I flail my arms and start crying.

Only sometimes.

I don’t want to be “the girl with tattoos.” I want you to know who I am before you see ugly creatures on my skin and assume that I’m a wild animal.

I have tried numerous times to get them removed and actually had one session done. It didn’t take out nearly as much of the ink as I would have liked, and when it came time to schedule 2nd and 3rd appointments, my tattoo artist bailed. That’s when I gave up on the non-laser approach at tattoo removal.

I want to either get them covered with something prettier or get them removed completely, preferably the latter. I think it will have to be a little of both so that I don’t have ugly scarring, but that’s going to be in another lifetime when I’m rolling in cash. Know what I mean?

Do you have any tattoos that you regret getting? Have you gotten them removed or covered up?
